This all metal gearbox and motor combination is intended for 4mm scale (OO/HO/EM/P4) and very small O Gauge locomotives using a 1/8" diameter axle. The gear ratio is 33:1 and a coreless motor is fitted. The gears are all metal with a combinations of crossed helical and spur gears, which results in very high efficiency.
The gearbox/motor has been designed to be a direct replacement for the Portescap ® RG4 which is no longer being made.
